The Uplift Story
Maria Shellock, BSN, RN
I became a registered nurse in 2005 and spent the majority of my early career in oncology. It was in the outpatient setting that I truly found my calling; building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and supporting them through both the challenges and triumphs of their journeys. I believe that trust is earned through time, experience, education, and a deep commitment to showing up and finding answers, even when they aren’t immediately clear.

My journey into aesthetics began in my 30s, shortly after becoming a mother. Like many women, I found that pregnancy had changed my skin, and, with it, my confidence. I developed melasma and didn’t yet have a personalized skincare routine. I felt too young to look tired and aged. That personal experience lit a spark. I started learning everything I could about skin health, diving into research and exploring treatments. With consistency, education, and a multi-modal approach, I began seeing real improvements, not just in my skin, but in how I felt in my own skin.

In 2022, I founded Uplift with Maria, a space where medical aesthetics and patient care come together in a thoughtful, results-driven way. My approach is always grounded in intention and restraint. While I believe every treatment has its place, I focus on personalized plans that make sense for your skin, goals, and lifestyle.

I love the subtle power of Botox. How it can refresh the face by softening expression and opening the eyes. I appreciate the versatility of dermal fillers, especially how they can restore lost volume and support facial harmony. But if I had to choose just one favorite tool in my treatment arsenal, it would be the Fotona laser (and yes, I’d sneak in my Alastin Hydratint Mineral Sunscreen, too!).
The laser’s ability to target everything from tone and texture to laxity, pores, pigmentation, and scarring, safely and effectively is truly unmatched.
